Assessment, wound care and X-rays when needed
We assess and treat minor injuries that do not require hospital care. Before you leave, call to tell us what happened, when it happened and what symptoms you have.
Pain and reduced movement after an injury; digital X-rays when indicated.
Cuts or gaping wounds that need treatment, with stitches or tissue adhesive when appropriate.
Assessment, cleaning and dressing of superficial, dirty or difficult-to-clean wounds.
Assessment of sudden muscle, back or joint pain and advice on the next steps.
A sprain is an injury to the ligaments that support a joint; a strain affects a muscle or tendon. Swelling and pain alone do not always distinguish these injuries from a fracture. The doctor will examine you and decide which imaging and treatment are needed.
When indicated, a digital X-ray can help clarify the injury. The doctor will decide on an appropriate support, such as a removable brace or a synthetic splint. Severe injuries or injuries requiring surgery need hospital care.
Deep, gaping, contaminated or difficult-to-clean wounds need medical assessment. The doctor checks the depth of the wound, whether a foreign object is present and whether a nerve, tendon or joint may be injured.
After assessment and cleaning, the doctor can decide whether stitches or tissue adhesive are suitable, or whether a dressing is sufficient. Not every wound can be closed straight away, and not every wound can be treated safely in a clinic.
Gravel, glass or other debris left in a wound can cause infection and delay healing. Have larger, deeper or difficult-to-clean grazes assessed by a doctor. Do not try to remove an embedded object yourself.
Spreading redness, worsening pain, swelling, discharge or fever requires further medical assessment.
For sudden back, muscle or joint pain, the first step is to assess the acute condition and identify any serious cause. We will explain which further tests, treatment or specialist care may be appropriate.
An acute clinic assessment does not replace ongoing orthopaedic care, rehabilitation or necessary hospital treatment. For a serious head, neck or back injury, or a fall from a height, seek emergency care instead.
01
Tell us what happened, when you were injured and which part of your body hurts or is bleeding.
02
We will discuss whether we can treat your injury and when you should arrive.
03
After assessment, any necessary tests and treatment, you will receive clear advice on what to do next.
If a wound is bleeding, apply pressure with a clean dressing. If an object is embedded in the wound, do not remove it or press directly on it. Heavy bleeding or bleeding that will not stop requires emergency care.
Rinse a small, superficial wound with clean running water, then cover it with a sterile, non-stick dressing. Have a deep, contaminated or gaping wound assessed by a doctor as soon as possible.
Bring a list of your medicines and any relevant medical records. Tell us if you take blood-thinning medication or have any medicine allergies, and when you last had a tetanus vaccination.
For heavy bleeding that will not stop, a severe injury or a life-threatening condition, call 112. Do not wait for a clinic appointment.
When assessing an injury, we first look for conditions that could threaten life or limb. If safe treatment requires a CT scan, surgery or hospital facilities, we will refer you to the appropriate level of care.
We assess the severity of your injury and decide which examinations are needed.
We explain how to care for your wound or support at home and whether follow-up is needed.
If your injury needs specialist or hospital care, we will explain this clearly.
These injuries need emergency or hospital care: severe head, neck or back injuries; falls from a height; serious chest, abdominal or pelvic injuries; suspected hip, pelvic or thigh bone fractures; severely damaged limbs; and severe or extensive burns.
For loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding that will not stop or another life-threatening condition, call 112. Do not wait for an appointment arranged by phone.
At our clinic, you will be assessed by emergency physicians with extensive experience in treating injuries and wounds, rather than by a trauma specialist or surgeon. The service focuses on assessing acute conditions and deciding on the necessary next steps. If you need specialist assessment, ongoing care or a hospital procedure, we will refer you accordingly.
Serious head, neck or back injuries, falls from a height, significant chest or abdominal injuries, suspected pelvic or thigh bone fractures, severely damaged limbs and extensive burns require immediate emergency care. For loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding that will not stop or another life-threatening condition, call 112.
No. The doctor decides which tests are needed based on how the injury happened and the physical examination. A digital X-ray may help when a fracture is suspected or there is another clinical reason. If the tests available at the clinic are not sufficient, we will recommend further specialist care.
No. The type of wound care depends on the depth and location of the wound, contamination, how long ago the injury occurred and which tissues are affected. Cleaning and a dressing may be enough; other wounds may need stitches or tissue adhesive. Have deep, gaping or contaminated wounds assessed promptly. Do not try to decide how to close a wound at home.
Not every wound needs antibiotics. The doctor will decide based on the type of injury and the risk of infection. Your tetanus protection depends on the nature of the wound and your vaccination history. Tell us when you last had a tetanus vaccination, or if you do not know. The doctor will explain any further steps during your assessment.
The doctor will advise on follow-up and stitch removal based on the wound’s location, treatment and healing. Follow the wound care and support or splint instructions you receive. Seek medical help promptly for worsening pain, spreading redness, discharge or fever, or for numbness or a change in colour while wearing a support or splint.
The consultation fee is HUF 33,000. Wound care, wound closure and supports or splints may incur additional charges. See our price list for current fees. We will explain the expected cost of your care in advance.
We value clear explanations and attentive, personal care for every patient.
